Family pictures

Isn't this just a sweet pic?!

The Noskers

Here are a few of the pictures we had taken recently. I wanted to get some nice pictures to give out for Christmas and to include in our Christmas cards. I just wish that Grandma K could have seen them before she passed. It's been a long month and I'm exhausted. We were in UT two weekends in a row, I've had a sick baby (on the day of the funeral, no less...not fun!), and I'm just done with work. Thank goodness I have two weeks to recover. Needless to say, the crazy, hectic, busy month has made blogging low on my priority list. We hope everyone had a nice holiday and safe travels.

More Thanksgiving Pics

While we were in UT we got to meet up with our friends who also had babies in 2007. Ironically, it seems to be that we see our fellow CO friends in UT more than in CO?! Anyway, here's the cute pic we took after lunch out with many, many children...some still in the womb! :) Soon Brin will have 3 more friends to play with. We can't wait to see them in May (or earlier) 2009.

Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving we were all able to travel back to UT for a visit with all of the family. Here we are with the Noskers.

Who says being Mommy is a hard job? Not Brinlie!

Brinlie and her Daddy often visit Mommy at her work. Brin loves to see all of my coworkers and show off her cute clothes. Here she is on Thursday busily working on my computer. I guess the only good thing about Daddy working a night shift is that he's able to bring Brin by on my lunch break for a quick visit. :)

"No more schedule changes! Sorry! What my mommy says, goes!"
"But I don't know how to help you--I'm just here to look cute!"

I gotta new do!

What's going on here?

Brinlie had her first haircut this week. When Daddy came home, it took him about 5 minutes before he realized it was cut. (Typical, huh??!!) Anyway, she looks even more adorable and they gave us a cute certificate with her little locks attached. She only had the front cut--I couldn't stand for her to lose her curls. Daddy knew telling me she has a "baby mullet" would get me wound up--it's not a mullet, it's growing out.

More Halloween

At my work it's tradition to dress up as a theme for each Halloween. This year we were Snow White and the Six dwarfs--our seventh dwarf was sleeping on the job! Anyway, here's some fun pics from yesterday. The students and staff love to see what theme we pick each year. Above is myself and Deb--my friend and personal assistant--I couldn't do my job without her!

Happy Halloween!

This was a much funner Halloween than last year. I actually picked this costume up for her last year (size 0-6 months), but it was obviously HUGE on her then. This year it fit perfectly! Everyone loved the little ladybug costume. We only were able to trick-or-treat at four houses this year. All of them were people we know and we'd spend about 15-20 minutes at each place. Needless to say, Brinlie was exhausted and overtired when we finally got home.

FINALLY---One year photos!

Hooray! We finally had Brinlie's one year pictures done today and I couldn't wait to share with everyone. She was such a cutie and really liked the cameras. Overall we're pleased with what we got from our very independent and mobile child! Now we just need to figure out the family christmas pics.

She was going to grab the feather duster they use to get her attention.
I love this shot!
"I'm so sweet and innocent...not exactly!"
At least I'm taller than this pillar....I'm just not as tall as 94% of babies my age.

We LOVE Fall!!!

October 2007--Brin 1 month old. Daddy still has mohawk from work bet. Mommy still has baby belly.
October 2008--Brin 13 months old, Mommy still has baby bellly. Daddy has "normal" haircut.

In case you weren't aware, we (ok, I) LOVE Fall!!! I love Halloween, wearing sweaters with jeans, changing colors of the leaves, football, and the beauty of it all. Each year I can hardly wait until September 1st because that's the earliest Daddy allows me to put up my pumpkins and such. However, I do not love the fact that it means winter is right around the corner. Once again we went up to the mountains to see the changing of the leaves. Last year Brin was only 1 month old when we ventured up there. It's hard to believe how much she's grown! Next weekend we'll celebrate 5 years of marriage! 5 Years! My how time flies when you're having fun!

Bowling Adventure

Brinlie and I went bowling with a few girlfriends last weekend while Daddy worked. Brinlie had a great time running around, exploring the bowling alley. She really enjoyed the fan that's located by the balls. It seems like I bowled better when she was in the backpack--strange, I know. All in all, it was a good experience. Something that would've been easier with Daddy there--maybe next time.

Go UTES!

Yesterday we decided to take Brinlie to her first college football game. The Utes were in town to play Air Force. Our good friend Dave hooked us up with tickets, so we ventured out to cheer on our Utes. (Yes, they are OUR Utes. We spent a lot of time and money there...that should count for something!) The McCallisters were also there to cheer on the Falcons, but in the end the Utes pulled off the win. Luckily it was a nice September day and it only threatened to rain. We had a great time and look forward to seeing more football! GO UTES!

It sure was hot at one point. Look at Brin with her sippy. Daddy and Gene were there wishing they had a nice cold drink too!

1st time to Ely

Brinlie had her first official visit to Ely for Mandy and Bruce's wedding. Although it was a whirlwind of a trip, we had a great time visiting and meeting friends. We even got to see Grandma W. who drove over to visit and babysit Brin while we partied at the reception! Here are a few pics from our NV adventure. We can't wait to visit the happily married couple sometime soon.

1 year stats!

I just wanted to quickly give you an update on Brinlie and the stats from her 1 year appointment last week. Tuesday Brinlie decided it was time to walk. Each day she takes more and more steps independently and is quite proud of herself! Luckily Monday night Daddy installed all of the Tot Locks on the cabinets...and the fun begins. While Brinlie is no longer able to open all of the cupboards, either are mommy and daddy. We find ourselves cursing the cupboard and finding the "key" to open the door.
As of her last dr. appt., Brinlie is 16 lbs. 8 oz. (the 1%--down from 5%), her height is 27 1/4 inches (the 6%--up from 5%) and head cir. of 17.5 in. (the 32%--down from 56%). All in all, everything looks great and she's right on track! I'll update with pics this weekend.

Brinlie's 1st Birthday!

Brinlie's 1st Birthday was on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd. We celebrated early at Great-Grandma June's house over Labor Day weekend. Lots of family were there to help Brinlie celebrate her fabulous first year of life. Mommy decided to be bad and give Brinlie an entire cupcake--chocolate even! She LOVED it! Proving she's just like her mommy more and more each day! The day before we left for UT, Daddy noticed that Brinlie has two teeth coming in on the bottom. So far only one has poked through and we're patiently waiting for them to come completely through so Brinlie will be her old, happy self once again! Her one year Dr. appt. is next week and we'll be sure to keep you updated!

"I can't believe they haven't taken this yummy stuff away from me! I'll start out with the sweet white frosting on top. Mmmmm...sprinkles."
"Uh, What chocolate cupcake are you referring to? I haven't seen anything like that around here!"
"Yep, that's right--I'm the Birthday Girl and I ate an ENTIRE cupcake!!! Hello sugar coma!"

Trouble Maker!

First things first, Happy Birthday Daddy! Lately Brinlie has been getting more and more brave, even standing unassisted for up to 10 seconds at a time. She loves to climb the stairs as fast as she can. She also has two push walkers that she's getting faster and faster at maneuvering them! Brinlie has also been getting into more and more stuff this month. I can hardly keep up with her and can only imagine what's to come! Here are just a few pics of the trouble she's been up to.

"What do you mean I'm not supposed to play with the blinds cord??!!"
"Yummy toilet paper. This is edible, right?"
"Watch how fast I can climb these stairs."

We can hardly wait to see what her second year of life brings!!

Happy Birthday Uncle Brenden

We just wanted to officially wish Uncle Brenden a very Happy 30th Birthday!!! Also, for those of you who don't know, Brinlie's mommy has gone back to work full time. Another school year is underway and it's going to be a busy one. Mommy has the senior class this year, which is sure to bring many adventures! Just as a warning, the blog will not be updated as often, but we will try our best to keep you all informed about the Nosker family happenings. We can't wait to post pics from Brin's 1st birthday!!! (Only 3 more weeks!! Can you believe it??!!)

Camping

A couple of weekends ago we took Brinlie on her first camping trip. Even though it was just an overnighter, it still was camping. Brinlie enjoyed helping her daddy set up the tent, hanging out by the fire, and staying up really late! Overall she did really good--sleeping eight hours. The rest of the day was not that great, but that's what happens when you normally sleep eleven hours! It was an adventure, but we will definitely be going again soon! (As soon as daddy has some time off!)

More Discoveries

Lately Brinlie is curious about EVERYTHING!! She is getting into more and more trouble and it's getting harder and harder to keep up with her! It's hard to believe how fast she's growing and that she'll soon be a year old. Brinlie is a total flirt and loves to be social with everyone. When they tell her how cute she is, she'll give them a huge smile. She's very open to new things and rarely gets upset. At almost 11 months, she still doesn't have any teeth--but that doesn't stop her from eating everything and anything she can get her hands on. She's getting better at climbing our stairs and loves to crawl as fast as possible--especially during diaper changes! Brinlie has a great personality, is very social, and absolutely beautiful (in my opinion, at least) --all things that scare her daddy to death.
